James "Tuffy" Rice began his career at Northern Arizona University in September of 1962 driving athletic teams, band and choral groups.  His travels with the various groups took him all over the United States and during his tenure at NAU, he logged over two million miles.  He was loved by all and considered as one of NAU's finest "Good Will" ambassadors.  "Tuffy" was a true friend to thousands of students and was honored by the NAU student body in 1973 as the Homecoming Dedicatee.
