Phoenix Timothy Arthur Smith entered heaven on January 4, 2018 after a courageous battle against heart failure. He was born on February 19, 1950 in Chicago, IL to Harold and Mary Smith. In 1959, his family moved to Phoenix.  Tim, the heart and soul of the first high school football team in Arizona to go 13-0 in a season at Phoenix St. Mary's in 1967. Tim was an All-American football player for St. Mary's High School, class of 1968. His football career continued at Glendale Community College and Northern Arizona University. He then was hired by the Phoenix Fire Department and served for 33 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Sandra Fotinos (Tony). He is survived by his wife, Betsy, his children, Jamie Davis (Gregg), Seth Jenners (Becky), Carmi Stein (TJ) and his brother, Matt Smith (Mary). He loved his 10 beautiful grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Through his strong faith, Tim became a dedicated servant of the Lord, tirelessly helping those in need. Tim made an impact on everyone he met. We will miss his stories and the laughter he gave us all.

Whether it was on the field as a standout High School and College football player or the fire-ground as the guy who fought fires harder and better than anyone, Tim was the one you could always count on for an amazing performance and who always had your back.
